Heather Hayes, AGACNP-BC, is a board-certified adult-gerontological acute care nurse practitioner practicing at Cardiology Associates of Frederick, located in Frederick, Maryland.
She began her education at Frederick Community College, where she earned her Associate Degree of Science in Nursing, summa cum laude. She started her nursing career working in critical care at R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore while completing her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Maryland School of Nursing in Baltimore, Maryland.
She continued to work as a critical care nurse while working on her Master of Science in Nursing degree from Georgetown University with a special focus in nursing education which she graduated summa cum laude. She was also invited to join the Sigma Theta Tau honor society. She then began working at Carroll Community College in their nursing program for two years, helping to educate and train future nurses.
Once again, Heather returned to school, this time obtaining a Post-Master's Certificate as an Adult-Gerontological Acute Care Nurse Practitioner from Drexel University. Since graduating as a nurse practitioner, she has worked in outpatient gastroenterology, internal medicine, and cardiology. She has worked in a number of settings, including hospitalist and observation medicine.
